MyMachine Wallonie: Children show us the raw power of creativity

MyMachine Wallonie (Belgium)’s creativity hits an all-time high! The new MyMachine season in the French-speaking part of Belgium has started! Students in primary schools in the provinces of Liège and Luxembourg have been invited to invent their Dream Machine. Anything goes, as long as they really, really want it.

These children remind us —the adults— what the raw power of creativity looks like. This means no boundaries, no limitations defined by ‘knowledge’. The purely free-thinking mind that only sees opportunities.

This is paramount because old habits do not open new doors. If we genuinely want breakthroughs in cancer treatment, space technology, mobility, clean energy, poverty, then we need to nurture those who dare to think differently.

And those groundbreaking —frequently perceived as crazy— ideas, come from those who have the guts to express and test them. They have what it takes: creative confidence. They go beyond the fear of the unknown, the fear of taking the first step, the fear of losing control, and the fear of being judged.

That is precisely what is happening now in MyMachine Wallonie! We can’t wait to hear about what they have invented. Stay tuned.
