MyMachine Flanders (Belgium, Europe) celebrated this year’s hard work! The expo unites all involved students to gather around the working prototypes of Dream Machines invented this year. Obviously, they are familiar with the Dream Machine they worked on. But much to their surprise, they discovered they were not the only ones. They discovered there were also other schools from different cities that worked on their Dream Machine.
From a Jump-Into-Vacation-Machine, to a Dance-Machine and a Travel-To-Different-Planets-Machine to the Robotopia computer game. Ten Working Prototypes were on display, the result of co-creation by approximately 500 students. That’s always a deeply enriching and important moment for all involved. It’s a huge celebration of a full year of working together. Along the way, they learned a great deal about how to bring ideas to life and about the importance of school, as incorporating such a real-world challenge into the classroom enables them to examine their education on a deeper level.
In addition the students were also given a tour of the Industry Museum, where they learned about people and machines and how they changed the world around us. They also participated in a workshop in which they learned various techniques, such as felting, letterpress, tinkering and dry needling.
Building that creative confidence is the nucleus of all achievements! With the MyMachine expo’s in Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia, the future looks very bright in Belgium!
Thank you so much to all students and educators involved, and to our great team at MyMachine Flanders & Brussels!
