We’re thrilled to announce that MyMachine is starting up in Germany!
We are fortunate to partner with Initiative Classroom Thinktank. This non-profit, created by the entrepreneurial Sommer brothers, is committed to promoting creativity as a central component of school learning. They support methods and approaches that stimulate the flow of creative ideas in schools and encourage unconventional thinking. “Our goal is to focus on fostering creativity in education and to make it more visible and prevalent in public. Through innovative principles and methods, we want to create a learning culture that not only imparts knowledge but also develops students’ creativity and prepares them for future challenges”, says Leonard Sommer, Co-Founder.
Initiative Classroom Thinktank will start the very first German MyMachine cycle in Baden-Württemberg. This state in southwest Germany is primarily known for its strong economy with various industries such as car manufacturing, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and the service sector. It has the third-highest gross regional product (GRP) in Germany. Some of the largest German companies are headquartered there, including Mercedes-Benz Group, Schwarz Group, Porsche, Bosch and SAP.
“We bring MyMachine to Baden-Württemberg to inspire young minds to think creatively and shape their future through innovative educational methods. We believe in empowering students to imagine, create, and realise their ideas“, says Gordon Sommer, Co-Founder.
The first MyMachine cycle is set up with 3 pioneering schools: primary school Galileo Bildungshaus, the University of Stuttgart (faculties of Space-Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and Architecture), and vocational secondary school Max-Eyth-Schule.
The very first MyMachine cycle will see the rise of invented Dream Machines in February, and they will finish it by producing Working Prototypes by the end of June. The first MyMachine exhibition will be hosted at Futuromundo (July 3-4) in Stuttgart. Futuromundo is a transdisciplinary conference on Technology, Creativity, Education, Innovation and Music. The Classroom Thinktank initiative is curating FUTUROMUNDO EDU – The International Future Festival of Learning.
We are very grateful to our MyMachine team in Germany and are looking forward to meet the very first Dream Machines from the young, inspiring minds in South Germany!
