The Very first MyMachine Expo in Germany!

We are thrilled to share that MyMachine Stuttgart (Germany) has successfully organised its very first MyMachine Expo, marking the culmination of their inaugural MyMachine cycle!

In this very first MyMachine cycle in Germany, some 180 elementary school students at the Galileo Education Center invented a Dream Machine. Regardless of what becomes of each child’s Dream Machine—whether the idea is personal or tackles a UN development goal—MyMachine is all about the process, the journey, and the learning.

“Through innovative principles and methods, we want to create a learning culture that not only imparts knowledge but also fosters students’ creativity and prepares them for future challenges,” says Leonard Sommer. MyMachine Stuttgart fits perfectly into that vision. The brothers Leonard Sommer and Gordon Sommer created Classroom Thinktank and inserted MyMachine into their operations. They are also the founders of Futuromundo, a Multi-Conference & Music festival for future decision-makers. Innovation, creativity, technology, music, and learning converge in a multi-conference that spans business, politics, science, and education. This MyMachine Stuttgart Expo was on display at Futuromundo!

Mayor Frank Nopper is also convinced of MyMachine Stuttgart and has taken on the patronage: “Stuttgart is a city strongly shaped by engineers, inventors, technicians, and scientists in both business and academia. We aim to further develop this strength by providing increased STEM support at all levels. The demand for skilled workers in this field is especially high here. MyMachine helps exactly where enthusiasm for technology begins—among the youngest—and thus promotes the STEM professionals of tomorrow.” Deputy Mayor for Education Isabel Fezer attended the unveiling of the Dream Machines on behalf of the mayor: “MyMachine really warms your heart. It’s a collaboration across generations.”

From the first sketches in January to fully functional prototypes, this first cycle in Germany is a powerful testament to the strength of co-creation, imagination, and STE(A)M education. The Dream Machines on display were not only inventive and fun, but also deeply personal—born from the minds of children who dared to dream freely:

  • Verwandlungsschloss (“Transformation Castle”) – a walk‑in wardrobe offering clothes, jewelry and compliments mymachine
  • Freund fürs Leben (“Friend for Life”) – a remote‑controlled pet‑robot. Kati is eight years old and in third grade. The “Friend for Life” is a dog—for people who have pet hair allergies or feel lonely. “Or for lazy people like me who don’t want to go for walks or pick up poop,” says the third grader after unveiling her dream machine, laughing. “And if you don’t want a dog, you can turn it into a cat instead.”
  • A Müll‑Schiff, a boat that collects garbage from waterways.
  • A Schatz‑Mobil, a machine designed to search for—and gather—treasures.

We are so proud of our amazing MyMachine team in Germany, led by Nana Moutafidou, and grateful to Futuromondo for providing such a vibrant platform to celebrate these young innovators! A big Dankeschön to all the students, educators, and partners who made this dream a reality!
